E-40 : The Ambassador E-40 is known as the Ambassador of Hyphy. He got his start hustlin mix tapes and became E-40 from his name Earl and 40 ounces of malt liquor. E-40 is from Vallejo, California and runs his own record label Sick Wid It Records. He's recently joined up with Southern Crunk rappers and labels BME and Warner Brothers. Though always popular in the Bay Area, E-40 has recently reached national prominence as he has helped Hyphy has spread nationally through his music and national appearances, including one on MTV's My Block. His 2006 CD 'My Ghetto Report Card' debuted #1 on the Billboard Rap Album Charts and his popular singles "Tell Me When to Go" and "U and Dat" have received significant radio play. |
